After the huge success of The Witcher 3, there was a chit chat in the gaming world about The Witcher 4 or The Witcher series shut its door. But a long year back in 2013 when Witcher 3 was in development, the production house of The Witcher has already declared that The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt probably not the end of the series. Yes, it’s pretty awesome news for all fans, like me, of The Witcher series.
First the news came out in the press release where studio head Adam Badowski made such a grand statement about the game. He said that if people are wondering whether The Witcher 3 is going to be the last game in the series, then this is the truth,Yes! It is going to be the last. In his words he said, “People may ask if this is really going to be the last Witcher game. Yes, it is. Why? Because we believe that we should end the series on a high note.”
On the other side, Eurogamer is trying to fix the actual meaning of the Adam Badowski’s statement. Soon after this update on The Witcher 3, Eurogamer reported that the Badowski meant was that The Wild Hunt series will be the last game in the Witcher triology but the game will continue its new series to entertain their loyal customers who have become part of their family. CEO Adam Kicinski has stated that the “franchise will be continued.”
Engadget reported that they contacted CD Projekt Red for clarification. Spokesman replied “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will wrap up the saga of Geralt of Rivia, but we do leave open the possibility of returning to the Witcher world.”
Earlier we also reported, The Witcher 4 is already planned based on the leaked document which revealed the script planning of The Witcher 4 and what all similarities will be carried to the upcoming sequel.
So all the above reports clearly hints The Witcher series will continue after The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but it is going to be a fresh series.
